Consistency Isn’t Sexy… But It’s Everything (Especially for Women Over 40)
Let’s be honest…
Consistency is not glamorous.
It doesn’t come with a big dopamine hit like starting something new.
It doesn’t get loads of likes on social media.
And it definitely doesn’t feel exciting when you’re tired, busy, stressed, or just not feeling it.
But here’s the truth most people don’t want to hear…
Consistency is the thing that actually gets results.
The Problem? We’re Wired for “Excitement”
We love the idea of:
A fresh start
A new plan
A quick fix
A “this time it will be different” moment
And that’s where so many women get stuck—especially over 40.
Because it’s not the starting that’s the problem…
It’s the sticking.
Why Consistency Feels So Hard
Life isn’t predictable.
You’ve got:
Work
Family
Hormones doing their own thing
Energy that isn’t what it used to be
Stress levels through the roof some weeks
So when things don’t go perfectly…
It’s easy to think:
👉 “What’s the point?”
👉 “I’ll start again Monday”
👉 “I’ve messed it up anyway”
And that’s the exact moment most people quit.
But THIS Is Where It Matters Most
When it feels hard
When motivation disappears
When results feel slow
When life gets messy
That is where consistency actually counts.
Not when it’s easy.
Not when you’re motivated.
When you don’t feel like it… and you do it anyway.
That’s where change happens.
It’s Not About Perfection
Consistency doesn’t mean:
Being perfect
Never missing a workout
Eating “clean” 100% of the time
It means:
👉 Showing up more often than you don’t
👉 Doing what you can with what you’ve got
👉 Not quitting when things wobble
Some days it might look like:
A full workout
Other days:
A 10-minute stretch
A walk
Choosing a better option instead of the “perfect” one
It all counts.
The Boring Truth That Actually Works
You don’t need:
A stricter plan
More restriction
Another “start again Monday”
What you need is:
To keep going.
Even when:
The scales don’t move
You feel bloated
Your energy is low
You’ve had a bad day (or week)
Because results don’t come from what you do occasionally…
They come from what you do repeatedly.
Keep Putting One Foot in Front of the Other
This is the bit I really want you to take away…
When things aren’t going your way
When it feels hard
When you’re tempted to give up
👉 Just keep going
👉 Keep showing up
👉 Keep putting one foot in front of the other
Because what you’re working for?
It’s often just around the corner.
But most people never get there…
Because they stop too soon.
Confidence Comes From Doing It
You don’t wake up one day feeling confident, motivated, and ready.
Confidence is built by:
Showing up when you said you would
Doing the workout you didn’t feel like doing
Following through… again and again
That’s how you start to trust yourself.
And once you trust yourself?
Everything changes.
Final Thought
If you’re in a season where it feels slow…
Or hard…
Or like nothing’s really happening…
This is your reminder:
✨ You’re not stuck
✨ You’re building
✨ You’re closer than you think
So don’t stop.
Keep going. Keep showing up. Keep backing yourself.
Because the results you want?
They don’t come from perfect…
They come from consistent 💛
