💛 My Honest Opinion on Mounjaro (GLP-1): What Women Over 40 Really Need to Know


Over the past year, GLP-1 weight-loss medications like Mounjaro have exploded in popularity — and the questions I receive from women over 40 have skyrocketed too:


“Should I take it?”

“Does it actually work for women my age?”

“Is it cheating?”

“Will it fix my metabolism or menopause weight gain?”


So today, I’m sharing my real, honest, experience-based opinion — not as a doctor, but as a women’s fitness and health coach who supports real women transforming their bodies, lifestyle, and confidence every single day.


This comes from watching hundreds of women over 40 over the years, navigate weight loss, hormones, emotional eating, and rebuilding a body they actually feel strong in.



✹ Does Mounjaro Work? Yes — Especially for Women Over 40


There’s no denying it — Mounjaro works.

For many women facing:


💛 insulin resistance

💛 perimenopause weight gain

💛 PCOS

💛 pre-diabetes

💛 slow metabolism

💛 long-term struggles with cravings or overeating



it can feel like a complete game changer.


Women often experience:


đŸœïž reduced appetite

📉 weight loss

⚖ improved blood sugar balance

đŸ§˜â€â™€ïž easier portion control

💛 fewer cravings


For women who’ve felt stuck for years, this can feel like finally getting their body back.


I understand exactly why so many consider it.



✹ But Here’s What Not Enough Women Are Told



Mounjaro does not replace:


đŸ‹ïžâ€â™€ïž strength

đŸ„— nutrition

đŸ’Ș healthy habits

đŸ§˜â€â™€ïž stress management

đŸš¶â€â™€ïž daily movement

🍳 enough protein


What it does is give you a window of opportunity.


The scale may drop — BUT IF HABITS DONT CHANGE, THE RESULTSWON'TDTICK LONGTERM.

This is where I see women get blindsided.


✹ My Biggest Concern: Muscle Loss for Women 40+


Women naturally lose muscle faster after 40 due to hormonal shifts — and rapid weight loss accelerates this!!!!!


Less muscle means:


❌ slower metabolism!!!

❌ weaker joints!!!

❌ higher injury risk!!!

❌ more fatigue!!!

❌ harder to maintain weight loss!!!


Your metabolism loves muscle.đŸ©·

Your hormones love muscle.đŸ©·

Your future self needs muscle.đŸ©·


This is why I will never recommend GLP-1 medications without pairing them with:


✔ consistent strength training

✔ higher protein intake

✔ a supportive lifestyle plan


You can’t build up what you don’t have — and muscle is your metabolism’s best friend. 💛


✹ Another Truth: GLP-1 Won’t Fix Emotional Eating!!!


Yes....it reduces appetite.

No.....it does not fix:


đŸ« sugar cravings

😣 stress eating

🌙 late-night snacking

⚡ overwhelm

🌀 all-or-nothing thinking

đŸ—Łïž negative self-talk

💛 low body confidence

🔁 lifestyle triggers


These are behavioural patterns, not hunger problems.

So if you don't address the food behaviours, you're not fixing the real issue

GLP-1 lowers your appetite — but it can’t lower your thoughts.


That mindset work is still yours
 and I’m here to help you build it.


✹ So
 Should Women Over 40 Avoid Mounjaro?


Not at all.


I’m not anti-Mounjaro.

I’m pro-informed choice and pro-protecting-your-metabolism.


For some women, it’s life-changing.

For others, it’s a short-term solution without the structure to maintain results.


The key isn’t the medication — it’s the support system around it.



✹ My Opinion, Clearly Summarised:


✔ Mounjaro is a helpful tool — not a magic wand.

Use it alongside healthy habits, not instead of them.


✔ Muscle-building is essential for women 40+.

Strength training protects your metabolism and hormones girls!!!


✔ Mindset matters as much as macros.

Your behaviour determines whether results last.


✔ Women over 40 need a tailored plan.

Hormones, stress, recovery and sleep matter more now.


✔ You’re not cheating if you choose it.

You’re choosing support — and we all deserve support. 💛
