Women On Weights 2026

W.O.W – Women On Weights

Strength Training for Women in St Ives, Huntingdon, Wyton & Cambridgeshire

W.O.W – Women On Weights began in September 2025 with one clear intention: to dedicate a whole class to working with weights and resistance in a way that feels safe, supportive and empowering for women of all ages and abilities.

For years, I’d seen the same pattern again and again.

Women who knew strength training was important…

But didn’t know where to start.

Women who wanted to lift weights but felt intimidated by gyms.

Women who worried they’d do it wrong, get injured, or feel judged.

And many women — especially over 40 — who quietly believed that weights simply weren’t for them.

I wanted to change that.

Why Weight Training for Women Is So Important

The benefits of weight and resistance training for women are phenomenal — particularly as we move through our 40s, 50s and beyond.

Strength training helps women to:

💪 Build and maintain muscle mass as we age

🦴 Support bone density and long-term bone health

🔥 Boost metabolism and support fat loss

❤️ Support hormone health through perimenopause and menopause

⚖️ Improve balance, posture and everyday strength

🧠 Increase confidence, resilience and self-belief

😌 Reduce stress and improve mental wellbeing

This isn’t about bodybuilding.

This isn’t about punishment workouts.

This is about feeling strong, capable and confident in your body — for real life.

A Strength Training Space Without Intimidation

One of the biggest reasons I created Women On Weights was to remove the fear factor around strength training.

Now, I know that even the thought of walking into a class can feel daunting for many women.

Gyms can feel overwhelming — rows of machines, mirrors everywhere, heavy equipment and the feeling that everyone else knows what they’re doing.

W.O.W was created to be the complete opposite.

A welcoming, community-based strength training session where real women can come exactly as they are.

No judgement.

No pressure.

No comparison.

Just clear coaching, encouragement, support — and yes, plenty of laughter too.

A Gentle First Step: Online 7-Day W.O.W Challenge

Because I understand that even a supportive class can feel like a big leap, I created a gentle introduction to weights that women can do from home.

I’m running an online 7-Day W.O.W – Women On Weights WhatsApp Challenge, starting Monday 9th February.

This challenge is designed for women who:

✔ Want to try weights without a gym

✔ Feel unsure or lacking confidence

✔ Are over 40 and noticing changes in their body

✔ Want short, achievable workouts that fit real life

You’ll receive:

💪 7 x short dumbbell workouts (around 10 minutes each)

📲 Daily support, motivation and accountability via WhatsApp

🧠 Clear, simple coaching — no jargon

🏠 Home-friendly workouts with minimal equipment

No pressure.

No mirrors.

No judgement.

Just a supportive way to build confidence and momentum.

What’s Next: 6-Week Women On Weights Programme in Wyton

For women who want to take the next step, W.O.W continues with a 6-week in-person strength training programme in Wyton.

These weekly sessions allow you to build on the foundations learned in the challenge — improving technique, progressing safely and gaining confidence with weights in a supportive group environment.

📍 Location: Wyton on the Hill Primary School

🕢 Time: Tuesdays at 7.30pm

📅 Start Date: Tuesday 9th February

⏱ Duration: 6 weeks

£99.00

These women’s strength training classes are suitable for:

✔ Beginners to weights

✔ Women returning after a break

✔ Women over 40 navigating perimenopause or menopause

✔ Anyone wanting strength without intimidation

This is not a gym-based class.

It’s a friendly, coached, community-led programme where you are supported every step of the way.

More Than a Weights Class

Women On Weights is about more than lifting weights.

It’s about:

✔ Building confidence

✔ Rewriting limiting beliefs

✔ Feeling strong in everyday life

✔ Learning skills that last

✔ Knowing you’re not doing this alone

From the online challenge to the in-person programme, W.O.W helps women realise what they are capable of — one supported step at a time.

💜 Final Thought

If you’ve ever thought: “I want to lift weights but I’m scared.”

“I don’t feel confident in a gym.”

“I don’t think I’m strong enough.”

Women On Weights was created for you.

Strong doesn’t have a look.

Strong doesn’t have an age.

Strong is learned — and every woman deserves to feel it.
